I had been keen reader of wine-journal.com for quite sometime....n' i like to thank you for bringing us interesting wine related article n' infor. Keep up the good work...
In 4 weeks time, my local wine tasting group will host a Petrus 1973 n' 1979 tasting and I just wonder how much decanting time u give to both bottles...?
The infor. i've got regarding both bottles are both had not seen any daylight for at least 10 years plus...both bottle is stored in Eurocave since late 80's.
N' secondly, any notes you've got recently regarding both vintage of Petrus?

I last had Petrus 73 about three years ago for my brother's birthday (typical for him to be born in an awkward vintage.) It`s the best 73 I have had, but its very different from todays wines so I would just give it 30 mins decanting. I have never had the 1979, though it is reputed to be good. Again I would not give too long, maybe 40-45 mins.
