GRENACHE … same HOME as SHIRAZ

Contributing to the famous wines of Ch?teauneuf-du-Pape from Rhone Valley, where Shiraz / Syrah came from.
Varietal characteristics: Ripe cherries; Earth and Spice

Langmeil 5th Wave:
From old bush Grenache vines (80 to 120 years old), producing one of the best quality Grenaches of Barossa. Depth and strength are on par Langmeilss flagship wine
“The Freedom” Shiraz, but half the price … a very good deal indeed!

MERLOT … on par the QUALITY of BORDEAUX ?!

Not common to have high quality and straight (100%) Merlot, especially in Australia, but the best ones are usually fabulous and of course very expensive, like Ch. Petrus from Pomerol, Bordeaux.
Varietal characteristics: Plums; Leather and Soft tannins

Richard Hamilton Egremont:
McLaren Vale region has warm but relatively cool enough climate yielding ripe enough Merlot (free from unwanted “vegetal” characters) yet has good acidity and balance.
The 1st release (1997 vintage) immediately won a Gold medal at the sixth annual Viinalies Internationales Wineshow for 2000 run by the Union des Enologues de France.
However 2000 is Egremont's last vintage (so sad the market can't support such a premium Merlot), so don't miss this last chance to have the wine!
